LEARNING STYLES

It is generally agreed among experts that there are three learning-styles:

• Auditory (sound)
• Tactile / Kinesthetic (interaction)

This approach to learning is researched-based. Studies in neurophysiology have shown that physical experience (interaction) creates especially strong neural pathways throughout the brain. When participating in interactive activity, the two hemispheres of the brain are simultaneously engaged. This type of learning experience helps assure that new information will be retained in the long-term memory.

It is a well-known fact that no one remembers all of what they see or hear, but all of us do tend to remember best what we have done. An old Chinese proverb states:

"I hear and I forget; I see and I remember; I do and I understand."
